I am very excited to work with your kids and getting to know them. This will be a wonderful year for all of us. We will open the year having fun and learning many new and exciting things.
Parents, the purpose of their binder is to keep your child organized and to keep you informed of homework, bulletins, and special upcoming events. It is important that you are involved in your child’s schoolwork to help them have a successful year. Everyday, please check the front Return to School pocket for paper work. Also, please check the Keep at Home pocket for items that can stay home. Should you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please write them in your child’s planner and I will try to respond as soon as I can. Also, included in the binder is a Spelling Activities Sheet from which your child will choose one activity a day to complete and turn in the next day. Please make sure to sign your child’s planner, reading log, and administer and sign the fluency practice sheet everyday. My homework goal for your child is to develop consistent, strong study skills this year to prepare him/her for their future as a student and to review and practice what we have done in class that day.
Parents, please note that all tests will be administered at the end of each chapter, lesson, or unit, so please encourage your child to study and complete their homework daily. I will be sending them home for you to sign and return back to school. At the end of each quarter, they will all be sent to keep home along with the report card.
I would also like to inform you that your child may borrow Math, Language Arts, and/or Science textbooks; however, they all must be covered before they’re taken home.
